BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Godoy has been a lecturer in Equine Medicine and Surgery at University of Chile, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science since 1977.
In 1982, under the tuition of Professor John D. Wheat he completed an internship at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, UC Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine. In 1985, he gets his Master´s degree in Veterinary Science focusing his studies in Animal Pathology. A few years later, between 1992 and 1998, Professor Godoy became the director of the Department of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, University of Chile.
Currently holds the category of Professor in Equine Internal Medicine and Surgery of the University of Chile and Director of the Diplomate Program "Equine Clinical Medicine" of the Postgraduate School, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, University of Chile. Also, he is a lecturer in the Equine Sport Medicine specialization program dictated by the graduate school of the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Neuroendocrine changes produced by stress related to exercise on Thoroughbred horses. Lameness examination, ultrasound and radiology diagnosis. Upper airways diseases in Thoroughbred horses.
