BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Francesco Passamonti is Head of the Division of Hematology of the University Hospital of Varese, Italy. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Pavia, subsequently becoming a specialist in Hematology. He worked as Assistant Professor of Hematology at the University of Pavia and as hematologist at the Division of Hematology of Policlinico San Matteo, Pavia, Italy. He is a member of the Board of the International Working Group on Myeloproliferative Research and Treatment (IWGMRT), as well as the European LeukemiaNet Work Package 9 for MPN and the Working Party for MPN of GIMEMA. He has authored and co-authored more than 170 papers on MPN and other hematological malignancies. He collaborated to the definition of molecular basis of MPNs and he designed new prognostic models for MPNs. He performs many clinical trials with JAK2 inhibitors, HDACi and IMiDs in MPNs from phase I to phase 3 trials.
