BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. John V. Planz is an Associate Professor and Vice-Chair in the Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Fort Worth, Texas. He also serves as the Associate Director of the UNT Center for Human Identification and is well known for providing training in forensic statistics at national and international conferences and provided continuing education in this area to crime laboratories nationwide. He has been working in the area of forensic genetics for over twenty years and has provided his expertise to various state and national advisory boards and committees. He published many articles in international journals.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Dr. John V. Planz research is mainly focused in the areas of molecular evolutionary genetics and population genetics and their applications for studying inter- and intra-specific diversity, human genome admixture influences in health disparities and the implementation of advanced analysis methods for genome analysis.
