BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Liu received his medical degree in clinical medicine from Capital Medical University in Beijing, China. He completed his PhD in biomedical sciences from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Liu completed postdoc studies in Statistical Genetics from University of Alabama, in Birmingham, Alabama. He is currently an associate professor in the department of biostatistics and bioinformatics at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Dr. Liu research interests include gene identification and functional studies for complex human diseases (such as obesity, osteoporosis cardiovascular diseases and sacropenia) using molecular genetics technologies and statistical genetics methods.
