BIOGRAPHY:
Mohammad Javed Equbal received his Ph.D. (Biochemical and Biotechnology Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. Later he carried his postdoctoral research in the area of chaperone assisted protein folding at Kusuma School of Biological Sciences, IIT Delhi. Prior to his Ph.D. He studied modern biology for his M.Sc. (Life Sciences) and M.Tech. (Biotechnology) degrees. At present he is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biomedical Sciences in Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas, United States. His laboratory is currently engaged in research on understanding molecular events during direct cardiac differentiation and to utilize the available knowledge for producing highly efficient cardiomyocytes and cardiac tissues towards the treatment of myocardial infarction.
