BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Pranav Dinesh Mathur earned his Ph.D. from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT, USA. Dr. Mathur’s doctoral research suggested measures to early and differentially diagnose Usher syndrome. In addition, Dr. Mathur studied compounds to prevent hearing loss due to Cytomegalovirus infection. Born and raised in India, Dr. Mathur completed his degree in Veterinary Sciences from Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University. Following which he went on to pursue his Masters in Animal Genetics from GADVASU University in India. Dr. Mathur started his research career during his Master’s education, wherein he was interested in the effect of selection on immunity. Ever since, Dr. Mathur has published several lead and co-author research papers, review articles and conference papers.
Dr. Mathur has received numerous scholarly awards during his education. He currently works as Associate Scientist, Research, at Otonomy Inc., a San-Diego based Pharmaceutical company dedicated to discovering therapies for hearing loss.
