Dr. Filiz Özel has completed her undergraduate study in the nursing section of Uludag University School of Health between September 2004 and June 2007. After she obtained her undergraduate degree she worked as a clinic nurse between 2007 and 2009. Researcher initiated her postgraduate study in the Department of Internal Diseases Nursing, Ege University Health Sciences Institute, in September 2007. She began her doctorate education in the Department of Internal Diseases Nursing, Ege University School of Nursing, in September 2009. She has been as an observer in the Behçet’s Syndrome Center of New York Langone Medical Center Seligman Center For Advanced Therapeutics, between the dates of May and July 2013. She took part in a number of national and international congresses and courses during her postgraduate and doctorate education. 

She worked in the Department of Internal Diseases Nursing, Ege University Nursing Faculty as a research assistant. She completed doctorate degree July 2014. Now, she is working in the Department of Internal Diseases Nursing, Kastamonu University Faculty of Health Science as an assistant professor.
